Manufacturing Engineering Co-op Fall 2025 (York Fabrication)

Position

Harley-Davidson York Vehicle Operations (YVO) is recruiting engineering co-ops for the fall semester of 2025.  This position is in the Fabrication department reporting to Justin Stahl.

The YVO Fabrication Department offers exposure to a wide variety of manufacturing processes, including:  metal forming and deep draw press operations, laser cutting, laser welding, GMAW robotic welding, GMAW and GTAW manual welding, induction brazing, resistance welding, robotic & manual metal polishing, welding of steel and aluminum, and a variety of other automated processes.

Candidates must be self-motivated and safety-minded.  Good computer skills - including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook are required.  Knowledge of weld engineering, manufacturing/ process engineering, 3D modeling, and AutoCAD usage are also desired.

Candidate Availability / Qualifications

Candidates must be available to work full time 1st shift, Monday thru Friday from 7AM – 3:30PM or Monday thru Thursday 6AM – 4:30PM. Shift start times/end times and work hours can be flexible to some degree, but it is expected that candidates will not be enrolled in any classes that will interfere with their work hours. This is an onsite position, and is not remote.

Candidates must be Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level students in an engineering program, manufacturing program, or related discipline.

 

Desired Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
Good math skills are required.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) are desired.
Familiarity with 3D modeling programs (Solid Works, AutoDesk Inventor, Creo Parametric) are strongly desired.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Mechanical drafting program is a plus.
Ability to perform collaborative engineering work with operators, maintenance technicians, setup personnel and other engineers is desired.
An interest in manufacturing is desired.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles such as Process Controls/Control Plans, Standardized Work Instructions, and Kanban Inventory Management are a plus, but are not required.
