Easterseals Wisconsin Camps – AmeriCorps Member (Summer Volunteer Coordinator)

Details:
·      Minimum 900 hour term of service requirement
·      $5,850 Living Stipend
·      $3, 247.50 Education Award upon successful completion of term
 
As a year-round program, Easterseals Wisconsin Camps strive to provide AmeriCorps members opportunity through National Service to build upon leadership skills, hands-on direct support and program facilitation training, and certifications that can be applied toward future professional pathways, all within an inclusive environment based in a summer camp setting. AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator: will provide program support by recruiting volunteers to help with camp programs in order to serve more children and adults with disabilities at both Respite Camp and Camp Wawbeek.

***Commitment is important for AmeriCorps members at Easterseals Wisconsin Camps. There are opportunities for short-term commitments as well, please note summer availability to the AmeriCorps Program Manager.
 
Previous experience working with people with disabilities is helpful, but not required. Potential candidates should be prepared to serve long days, work as a part of a team, remain adaptable, open minded, and energetic.
 
What to expect: Members receive both formal and informal training, including personal care, program facilitation, AmeriCorps orientation, ropes facilitation training, lifeguard certification, CPR & First Aide, conflict resolution, diversity training, and conflict resolution.
 
Camp Dates: May22- August 18. Members have off : Friday 4pm-Sunday 11am.
