Physical Scientist/Geologist-R3

This position is in Region 3, Office of the Regional Administrator, Superfund and Emergency Management Division, Technical Support Branch, Hydrologic Support Section. If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement. 

About Region 3: R3.

At the entry level of this position, you will:

- Serve as a staff geologist in the Superfund program on a wide variety of issues including geology, hydrogeology, contaminant transport and behavior, sampling techniques, and remedial technologies;

- Plan and assist with field activities;

- Advise on technical hydrogeologic issues for non enforcement negotiations with Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) to ensure that the Agency's mission is not compromised on non-complex sites;

- Attend meetings with the PRP and their consultants.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
