Behavioral Analyst I - Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Chief Psychologist, provides assessment, treatment, and training services to the residential treatment unit; develops habilitation, rehabilitation, and treatment services for individuals supported by Murray Developmental Center.
 
 
Behavioral Analyst I - Job Responsibilities
1. Provides assessment, treatment, and training services to the residential treatment unit.
 
2.  Analyzes data and develops individualized intervention procedures which emphasize the development of behaviors over the suppression of behavior and which are the least intrusive interventions that can be expected to achieve the treatment objectives.
 
3.  Provides training to direct care staff on the delivery of planned treatment programs by explaining how to implement the planned programs, demonstrating interaction techniques, and providing performance feedback.
 
4. Attends meetings of the interdisciplinary Treatment team.
 
5.  Completes records and reports including assessment documents, treatment plans, and individual progress reports.
 
6. Attends committee meetings, management communication meetings and other organizational functions.
 
7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
 
 
Behavioral Analyst I - Minimum Qualifications
  1. Requires possession of a master's degree, with major coursework in behavior analysis and modification, from a graduate program accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis. 
  2. Requires one year of professional experience in behavioral analysis and modification, or completion of the agency-sponsored Behavioral Analyst Associate program.
 
 
Behavioral Analyst I - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires extensive knowledge of behavior analysis principles.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of professional and ethical guidelines, federal and state laws, and departmental rules governing the practice of behavior modification. 
  • Requires extensive knowledge of assessment instruments and measurement principles.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of basic health and safety principles.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of medications, medication control procedures, and behavior problems related to medications.
  • Requires ability to plan and design individual treatment/habilitation programs for assigned individuals.
  • Requires ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, service individuals, and their families.
  • Requires ability to ensure that the design of treatment plans is implemented correctly.
  • Requires ability to ensure that program delivery staff learn and understand the purpose and methods of implementing individual program plans.
  • Requires ability to develop valid, reliable measures of individuals needs and progress.
  • Requires ability to assess the effectiveness of treatment program and make corrections to effect desired results.
  • Requires ability to ensure that the safety needs of individuals are met.

Behavioral Analyst Associate - Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Psychologist for a period not to exceed twelve months, actively participates in in-service and on the job training to develop further expertise in the field of behavior analysis including supervised development of habilitation, rehabilitation, and treatment services for individuals supported by the Center, implementation of behavior analysis programs, development of familiarity with Department services, acquisition of working knowledge of Department program policies, rules and procedures, and completion of increasingly complex projects; assists in the delivery of training to direct care staff in areas of behavior analysis, techniques, program implementation, data collection, and analysis.
 
 
Behavioral Analyst Associate - Job Responsibilities
1.  Actively participates in in-service and on the job training to develop further expertise in the field of behavior analysis, including supervised development of habilitation, rehabilitation and treatment services for individuals supported by the Center, implementation of behavior analysis programs, development of familiarity with Department Services, acquisition of working knowledge of Department program policies, rules and procedures, and completion of increasingly complex projects.
 
2. Subject to the review of Behavioral Analysis, conducts behavior analysis assessments and development draft treatment strategies, programs and plans based on those assessments.
 
3. Assists in the delivery of training to direct care staff in areas of behavior analysis, techniques, program implementation, data collection and analysis.
 
4.  Attends Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to develop knowledge and familiarity with the interdisciplinary process.
 
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
 
 
Behavioral Analyst Associate - Minimum Qualifications
