SEASONAL PRESCHOOL OUTREACH INTERN
This internship has proven to be a great start for those interested in library science, early childhood, or other related fields. Let us turn you into a storytime pro! We are looking for two interns to perform storytimes and play a pivotal role in the library’s outreach team, working with preschool-aged children at our local early learning center. The successful candidates will also facilitate a book-borrowing program through the school.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants should be enrolled in or recently graduated from a library information science or early childhood program, and have an interest in working with children of preschool age. Applicants must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and be able to provide their own vehicle for travel to and from the outreach location.
Will wear a face mask according to CDC guidelines adopted by the State of Illinois, and agree to follow the School District 62 COVID protocols.
Hours
- This internship runs from January 10 through March 18, 2022 (10 weeks), 12 hrs/week.
- Please indicate in your cover letter your preferred schedule:
- Mondays and Wednesdays 9:15-2:15 with a half-hour unpaid lunch, Fridays 3 hours (flexible).
- Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:15-2:15 with a half-hour unpaid lunch, Fridays 3 hours (flexible).
- The ten-week internship includes two weeks of training. No previous training or special knowledge of library programming or outreach is required.
- Training dates/times are flexible and will be scheduled upon hiring.
