Accounting Intern
Purpose:
Provides administrative support to the Accounting Department, maintain and update records ensuring timeliness and accuracy, and is responsible for assisting in a key capacity with Accounts Payable, month-end close, account reconciliations, expense management and other analytical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare standard journal entries for month-end close and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Report and reconcile outstanding checks and wires
- Prepare monthly Bank account reconciliations
- Updates and distribute daily report of cash activity, cash and revolver loan balance
- Assist with weekly and monthly borrowing base certificates
- Assist customer invoicing and cash application
- Assist vendor invoice vouchering in Accounts Payable and vendor inquires
- Prepare monthly expense analysis and reviews variances
- Assist with audit request documentation and schedules
- Work on other tasks as assigned
Selection Criteria
- Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local university, major in accounting & completion of core level accounting courses. A junior or senior level, with current GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
- Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer proficient with Excel
- Must be available minimum of 20 hours per week during academic year
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship
