Cinema Customer Service Representative

FACETS is dedicated to creating platforms for thought-provoking films, important conversations, and community-driven education. A landmark destination for generations of cinephiles, FACETS inspires audiences to actively engage with film, not simply as entertainment, but as a tool to bridge cultural divides, promote digital literacy skills, and expand perspectives through empathy-driven storytelling.

We are currently seeking customer service representatives who are responsible for ensuring positive customer experiences during both film presentation and retail experiences. This position performs video store rental and retail upkeep, film projection, and concessionist duties, as well as report inventory updates and customer feedback to the FACETS office.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
(candidates will be responsible for each venue interchangeably)
Cinema
  • Execute light food service and custodial work, both at concession stand and in the cinema
  • Provide remote customer service via email and phone for members and other patrons
  • Completing ticket and concession transactions using PatronManager and Square
  • Curate DCP based film projection, including cinema lighting and film formatting (training provided)
Store
  • Provide retail assistance for members and other patrons, including finding films and making film recommendations based on interests and inquiries
  • Shop organization and maintenance of film collection
  • Completing retail transactions using Square
  • Update member records using FACETS Admin system
  • Provide remote customer service via email and phone line for members and other patrons

Experience and Skills
 
Education: High school degree or comparable, arts background preferable
Position Qualifications
  • Investment in providing positive customer experiences at every stage of interaction
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem solving skills
  • Some cash handling experience, Computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in point of sale systems
  • Healthy curiosity about the making, culture, and history of film
  • Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Must be able to view computer screens and monitor customer activity 
Physical Requirements of the Position: Candidates should be aware of the challenges associated with an old building, including stairs in inconvenient places and lots of movement between shop and cinema. In addition, taking into consideration the visual components of the job, i.e. computer and projector use. FACETS is happy to discuss increased accessibility opportunities within the interview process.
Position Classification: Part-Time, evenings and weekends
