Community Partnership Coordinator - Adult Basic Ed

Adult Basic Ed Teacher
Part-Time 12 months/94 days/4.75 hrs a day
Schedule / Hours:  Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 pm - 8:45 pm

Locations:  Metro North ABE - Blaine Learning Lab, Anoka County Human Services Center, 1201 89th Avenue NE, Blaine, MN

Duties:  Concentration on the area of Science - Work with adult students who are preparing for the GED examination, completing high school competencies, brushing up on their basic skills, and/or preparing to enter post-secondary training or employment. Instruction will be in an online, synchronous delivery model (Google Meet and Google Classroom). Other duties include ongoing assessment, student record keeping, distance learning support, and asynchronous class support.  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  Current MN Teaching License, or ABE license. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to work as a team member. Computer skills required.  Must be physically working in the building/on site.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching within an adult basic education program, expeience providing online instruction, and working with diverse populations, preferred. Knowledge of the GED science exam preferred. Training and experience in cooperative learning and curriculum development preferred. Computer experience and comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet, email, and Google apps preferred.

Rate of pay: $29.69/hour.
