Photography Intern

GENERAL SUMMARY
10-14 hrs/week - Paid
Lincoln Park Zoo is hiring one photography intern to help support the in-house marketing and communications team to photograph on-grounds animals, people, buildings and events. We’re looking for photography students who have a strong command of photography as it relates to brand communications: applications on websites/email, on-grounds signage and print collateral.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Learn to plan photography sessions with design and communications team.
• Learn to cover a subject for a variety of applications.
• Learn the operations of an in-house design department and how photography relates to ongoing processes.
• Build experience with asset management— organizing photo libraries and archives.
• Post-processing photographs from raw for a variety of uses
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Working toward completion of a BFA or BA in Photography (rising senior preferred).
• Experience with various photographic techniques regarding handling lighting and distance situations.
• Personal equipment preferred but not required.
• Available at least 10-14 hours a week.
