WORK SCHEDULE: M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
DEPARTMENT: Student Services  
SALARY RANGE: $21.83-$31.70/hourly; $45,581 to $66,190 annualized
 
The work location is in the heart of beautiful central Minnesota; just an hour from the Twin Cities. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
This position ensures that all application materials are accurately collected, stored, analyzed, entered into the database, and processed to ensure students are admitted, tracked, registered and communicated with as they matriculate to the college. This position also generates reports to monitor students at various stages of matriculation and works with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions to improve service and create efficiencies in office processes.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Diploma and/or AAS degree in an Administrative Support program area (or related two-year degree) or at least two years of work experience in an office setting
  • Computer Skills:
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to check completed work for accurate spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
  • Knowledge and skill of Spreadsheets sufficient to use software to prepare reports and type documents as requested. Ability to develop spreadsheets and/or enter data into existing spreadsheets
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into a database to ensure data integrity and privacy
  • Ability to type and/or keyboard. Skill to pass a typing/keyboarding test of 45 wpm with 8 errors or less
  • Math:
  • Knowledge of math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to provide accurate numerical data as requested
 
 
 
  • English:
  • Knowledge of speaking, writing and reading sufficient to answer phones, communicate effectively with internal and external customers, prepare written responses to routine inquiries, and follow detailed instructions provided both orally and in writing. Skill in using grammar, spelling and punctuation to prepare reports, write emails and memos. Ability to read and write materials in English
  • Customer Service Skills:
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction. Ability to use customer service skills on the phone, in person, and online to promptly respond to customer inquiries, provide positive problem solving, and manage customer complaints tactfully and thoroughly
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computer Skills:
  • Ability to learn new software, such as ISRS, CRM, ImageNow, or other selected software as position responsibilities expand
  • Bachelor’s degree in related program area
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in order to manage projects, identify priorities, and meet timelines with little supervision
  • Knowledge of Financial Aid regulations and processes, admissions, registration, and academic policies and procedures in order to assist customers adequately
  • Data Privacy:
  • Knowledge and skills to adequately handle data that is confidential and personal in nature
 
Physical Requirements, with or without an accommodation:
·      Ability to perform work that requires the following lifting/carrying strengths:
o  Lifting/Carrying 20 lbs. maximum, 10 lbs. or less frequently
o  Posture/Other Activities: significant amount of walking or standing pushing and pulling on arms and legs.
o  Desk/Computer work with occasional lengths of time standing for events. 
·      Ability to perform in a work environment which may include the following physical functions:
o  Occasional: walking, reclining, lifting above shoulder, lifting waist to chest, lifting below waist, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting/pivot, reaching, simple grasp
o  Frequent: standing, talking
o  Constant: sitting, repetitive arm movements, hearing, using near vision (up to 20), using midrange vision
