Research, Case Management, and Program Design for Veteran Program Internship


As an intern here, you will help accelerate social justice issues that impact justice-involved veterans and be part of the solution to society’s most challenging problems. This is a remote internship that will meet with an advisor weekly, who will work closely with you to align the position with your learning objectives.
 
Here is just a sample of things that you can work on in your internship:  
  • Work with team and network-wide resources to drive program enrollment and engagement. 
  • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and briefings as necessary to achieve program goals and outcomes. 
  • Recognize, anticipate, and help remove barriers to ensure a successful program and staff performance. 
  • Research academic literature relating to the projects. 
  • Develop and plan needs assessments, policy and data analysis, and action plan recommendations. 
  • Support program manager and Director of Training and Skills Development. 
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling reports or briefs. 
  • Consistently demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Assist in leading and coordinating meetings with invested stakeholders, including conducting round table meetings. 
  • Create, collect, and analyze survey data that will shape future trainings. 
  • Write training curriculum, handouts, and presentations.

  • Organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically across a range of intellectual and practical problems. 
  • You have experience in systems change and capacity building in organizations. 
  • You have strong writing and research skills. You can find and convey information clearly and concisely.   
  • You’re majoring in or graduated with a degree in public policy, marketing, strategic communications, communications, journalism, political science, public health, social work, psychology, nonprofit management, or something similar or equivalent.
