Local Coordinator Recruiter – High School Programs – Regular, Full Time 
 
·       Department: Greenheart Exchange High School Programs 
·       Type: Regular, Full-time  
·       Start Date: May 24, 2021 or ASAP 
·       Hours: 40 hours per week, schedule may require some evening/weekend hours for calls (adjusted schedule) 
·       Location: Remote (HQ: 742 N. LaSalle Drive, Chicago, IL 60654)

We achieve our goals through a unique set of programs and initiatives fostering cultural exchange, eco-fair trade, volunteerism, personal development and environmentalism. Greenheart encompasses three main branches: Greenheart Exchange, Greenheart Travel, and Greenheart Shop. 
 
Within Greenheart Exchange, the J1 High School Program brings high school students from all over the world to the United States on a cultural exchange program (called Bridge USA) that allows them to attend high school and live with a volunteer host family.   
 
As one of the few environmentally conscious J-1 visa sponsors, we pride ourselves on providing a quality experience while encouraging and enabling Greenheart staff, participants, local coordinators and host families to work together on projects that promote environmentalism and sustainability. 
 
Our Ideal Candidate:  The ideal candidate should be driven, organized, a clear communicator, supportive, outgoing, and flexible with changing priorities. In a fast-paced working environment, the ability to oversee multiple projects and deadlines is essential in this role. 
 
Duties: The LC Recruiter works to recruit Local Coordinators*, who are independent contractors who place international exchange students with volunteer American host families, and assist them throughout the year. The recruiter would ensure Local Coordinators are recruited in compliance with the regulations of the Department of State (DoS) Bridge USA programs. 
 
*Local Coordinator Basics 
·       Independent contractor role (eligible to earn a payment) 
·       Part-time, work from home 
·       Must be at least 26 years old 
·       Ability to attend professional development and training workshops 
·       Opportunity for domestic and international travel to annual conferences 
 
Some things you may do in this position: 
·       Set-up ads in locations around the U.S. where schools are open to exchange students (locations identified by field leaders) 
·       Regularly follows-up on all recruitment leads and weekly status reports 
·       Screening independent contractor applicants (Local Coordinators; LCs) 
·       Ushering applicants through the LC approval process (application, background check, Department of State verification test, Host Family application) 
·       Ensuring approved LCs complete online training basics 
·       Handoff to Regional Directors  
·       Regular meetings with Regional Directors  
Required Skills/Abilities: 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Utilizing Zoom for individual or group calls and Calendly for appointments 
  • Extremely creative and inventive. 
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and communicate data. 
  • Organized and detail-oriented.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
Education and Experience: 
  • High school degree required, Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 

Some qualifications that are given preference: 
·       Sales and/or volunteer recruitment experience useful 
·       Minimum of an Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience highly preferred. 
·       Experience managing data and working in a customized database 
·       At least one year of work experience, preferably in a non-profit setting 
·       Exceptional time management and organization skills 
·       Excellent writing and verbal communication skills 
·       Tech-savvy, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel 
·       Experience managing a high volume of emails and telephone calls 
·       Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders 
·       Proven experience resolving conflicts, and managing sensitive situations 
·       Ability to travel domestically, on occasion 
·       Adept at networking and relationship building 
·       Experience studying, volunteering, or working outside the U.S., and/or experience working in a multicultural and/or multilingual environment, a plus

  • None 

Compensation: Starting at $40,000, but commensurate with experience plus benefits package
