Program Supports Assistant

After School Matters provides Chicago high school teens with high quality, after-school and summer opportunities to explore and develop their talents while gaining critical skills for work, college and beyond. Since 1991, more than 350,000 teens have participated in our hands-on, project-based after-school and summer programs in the arts, communications and leadership, sports and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Programs take place at locations throughout the city including Chicago public high schools, Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Library locations, community organizations, downtown at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts, in Belmont Cragin at our Michael and Karyn Lutz Center for After School Matters, and in the Pullman community at the new Gately Center for After School Matters. Summary of Position:
This position will work under the supervision of the Manager of Professional Development to support the Program Supports team with a wide range of projects related to: professional development; event planning; performances and special events; attendance reporting; internship oversite; communication with interns and employers, and instructor payroll administration.

This is a temporary, part-time position that is expected to work up to 20 hours per week through August 2021.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support with Cityspan attendance for Professional Development, internships and other programs as needed;
  • Provide support preparing financial summary documents needed for paying invoices;
  • Assist with communications regarding teen events, teen internships, and instructor professional development;
  • Conduct site visits when needed;
  • Collaborate with Finance team to assure instructors and interns are paid;
  • Pull requested supporting documentation;
  • Assist with ordering and gathering materials for events;
  • Facilitate/present materials where necessary;
  • Provide logistical day-of support for Professional Development, Performances, and Events;
  • Provide logistical support with programs where needed;
  • Support with data entry for programs and professional development;
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Prior participation in one or more After School Matters programs strongly preferred
