Contract Specialist

Duties

Summary

Selected applicants will serve as an entry-level Contract Specialist trainee enrolled in the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) Program, performing a series of progressively more responsible assignments, along with formal and on-the-job training.


Responsibilities

Please note, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Agency is operating in a maximum telework posture for all telework ready employees occupying a telework eligible position. The following duties will be performed in a developmental capacity:
Performing acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, negotiations, contract award, and contract administration in order to obtain supplies for the military.
Utilizing a wide range of contracting methods and contract types to plan and carry out long-term pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions.
Exercising extensive in-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and of supplementary policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Preparing Requests for Proposal (RFP) or Requests for Quotes (RFQs), selecting clauses and terms and conditions required by regulations, policies, and procedures.
Monitoring the solicitation through its entire phase, issuing amendments, and answering potential offerors' questions.
Exercising critical thinking, prudent judgment, and initiative to assure high quality decisions during all phases of the acquisition process including contract award performance and administration.
Managing multiple projects and determining project urgency, as well as effectively communicating orally and in writing.
Collaborating efficiently with team members in execution of duties associated with the procurement process in order ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policies.
